The Shell: Keeping the Bad Stuff Out We tuck our lamps inside specialized quartz or ceramic sleeves, locked down with gaskets that can handle a beating from harsh chemicals. Why? Because if a seal fails, those volatile fumes hit a high-temp surface or an electrical arc, and you’ve got a disaster on your hands. We use high-grade fluoropolymer seals to make sure the lamp stays totally isolated from those caustic cleaning agents. It’s all about creating a wall that doesn’t budge. The Brains: Real-Time Feedback Precision doesn’t mean much if the system isn’t safe. That’s why we build high-response thermocouples right into the heater assembly. These sensors keep a constant eye on the lamp’s surface temperature. The Catch: Dealing with Thermal Lag Here’s the thing: adding those protective layers makes the system safer, but it does slow things down. Since the sleeve acts as a barrier, the heat takes a bit longer to reach your target. You’ll need to tweak your PID loop settings to handle that delay.
